Last Call! (Clarinet bonus training disappears in a few hours) Sent Monday, September 4, 2017 View as plaintext
Many people have registered for the Mastering Clarinet Music Club and the Clarinet Mastery Live Trainings since they started in January. The progress that they have made is amazing. You can have the same progress. What do they have in common with you?
They love playing clarinet, and want to get better
They have things that frustrate them and they don't know the best way to fix them (such as high notes don't respond well, a section of music is just too hard for the fingers to play smoothly, rhythms that don't make sense)
They improve in anything in life when there is a structure set up to help them improve on a regular basis (How about having a twice-monthly opportunity to check in live, online, with me, to ask me any of your clarinet challenges and get personal feedback from me?)
It is Labour Day here in Canada, where we honour...
New School Year - New Approach To Your Clarinet? (even if you are no longer in school...) Sent Saturday, September 2, 2017 View as plaintext
Learning is always a priority of mine, and I make it a point to study new things every week. School starts here next week, and it always make me think about the new things that I would like to learn. How about you? I'm still learning new skills on my clarinet, and new ways to teach those skills. I would like you to always be able to share in my newest teachings and learnings on the clarinet, which I believe help all of us to play better, and learn much more quickly.
Would you benefit from:
Two live sessions a month where you can ask me any clarinet question you like? Seriously - If you are having trouble with anything, I'll do my best to help you find a solution.
Joining an active community of mature amateur adults that love playing clarinet and supporting each other, sharing knowledge...

You may have seen the note that I sent about a Clarinet Mentors Live Online Training last Saturday. We had about 70 people from all over the world in this very interactive session. I know that many of you could not log in live, but are interested in these lessons. You can watch the entire replay here.
I presented some of my latest ideas on how to learn more effectively as a clarinetist, and provided an outline that you can use to plan your practise sessions in a way that speeds up your progress. You'll see a full list of the questions and topics that we covered under the video.
Some of these topics include:
Mouthpieces, Hand position for better technic, Blowing, How much mouthpiece should I use, and how does that affect tonguing? What are some good intermediate musical resources? What type of metronome should...
Clarinet Live Session Replay - Great clarinet discussion for you to enjoy Sent Thursday, May 4, 2017 View as plaintext
Last week, I invited everyone in the Clarinet Mentors Community to attend a live online training session with me. We had a great time!
I promised to send out a video replay since many people were unable to attend in person. I presented a mini lesson on how I approach learning a new piece of music, and then we had a great Question and Answer session. Just take a look at the list of questions below!
You can watch the whole video, or just the parts that interest you:
This session started with Michelle teaching some technics for learning new music. You can download the sheet music here: http://www.clarinetmentors.com/resources/MozartClarinetDuetAndanteGrazioso.pdf

It looks like in my excitement to share the video of Sean Perrin and I answering clarinet questions, I forgot to put in a link! You can watch the video here: https://youtu.be/VPjd8nYFxJY
You will find a list of all of the topics in the description of the video. It includes discussions of how to play more musically, how to choose a barrel, how to tune the clarinet, how to tell if your instrument is in good shape, how to oil keys and lots more.
Sorry for not including the link. I hope you enjoy it!
